June, 19 2009 New Facility, We are in! 
We moved the weekend of May 1st and we were up and running at 3815 Prosperity on Monday, May 4.  We spent the month of May “getting settled” and received our occupancy permit on June 11.  This is a fantastic facility for harness manufacturing with plenty of room to grow.
ISO9001/2000
On Monday, June 15, the ISO/UL auditor visited Duluth and completed a thorough review or our quality system.  We are delighted to report that except for three “opportunities for improvement” we passed the evaluation with flying colors!
Cirrus 2008 Supplier of the Year Award
American Precision Avionics, Inc. receives Supplier of the Year 2008 Award from Cirrus Design Corporation.

Cirrus was founded in 1984 and today is the world's leading innovator of single-engine, piston-powered aircraft. For the last five years their SR22 has been the world's best selling airplane in its class. Cirrus is known for state-of-the-art safety innovations, including a final level of
protection known as the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS). Cirrus sells their planes worldwide and currently has over four thousand planes in service today

The Supplier of the Year Award was presented by Brent Wouters, Chief Operating Officer, Todd Sigler, Vice President Product Assurance, and Susan Smart, Supplier Product Assurance Engineer, as part of the 2008 Cirrus Supplier Symposium. Receiving the award for AP Avionics, Inc. was Dave Scheck, Operations Manager, Bob Cortese, Director of Quality Assurance, Naimish Gandhi, Account Manager, Dan Behymer, Quality Engineer, Terry King, Operations Manager, Lynn Andrews, Office Manager and Gary Wisniewski, Vice President Marketing. Cirrus chose AP Avionics based on quality, cost, on-time delivery, responsiveness and providing technical assistance on new designs of cable assemblies and harnesses.
ISO9001/2000
On December 8, 2008, AP Avionics received its ISO9001/2000 certification for its Duluth, MN facility. Underwriters Laboratories (UL) performs the audits and issues the certification.
New Facility
When AP Avionics established operations in Duluth, MN, it entered into a rental agreement for manufacturing and office space through the Duluth Seaway Port Authority at the 4441 Venture Avenue address. This is the current address for Duluth operations.

In early 2008, AP Avionics management began the process of specifying a 15,000 sq. ft. building design and selecting a general contractor. Ground was broken on the new building in mid-October and construction has been ongoing since. The original move-in date was planned for March 15, 2009.  However, move-in is now anticipated mid-April due to abnormal winter construction conditions
