APA Vionics capabilities and Product Services

American Precision Avionics cable production meets rigorous quality control standards. We perform continuity and Hi-Voltage testing to assure and meet customer specifications. AP Avionics employs the highest standards in automated tooling equipment for AMP, 3M and Molex products. In addition, AP Avionics has a full complement of hand tools from leading quality manufacturers.

Komax Gamma 333PC – This fully automated cutting and crimping machine is the newest addition to the AP Avionics arsenal. The Komax is capable of processing 3,500 units per hour and crimp both ends of each wire.  It is also equipped with cutting-edge control software that allows AP Avionics to ensure high quality standards are applied.

Alltec DN50A Nd:YAG Laser Marker – This machine encompasses a class 4 laser that will be used in line with a Komax Gamma 333PC cutting stripping and crimping machine to label each wire. This addition gives AP Avionics permanent capability, which is often required for avionic and military applications. Wire and multi-conductor cable can be marked for 10AWG to 26AWG size product. This method of wire marking is extremely fast and very reliable.

Avionics Harnesses – We manufacture wire harnesses ranging from one wire to over 300, with 2-pin Molex connectors to 72 pin Garmin D-subs. AP Avionics is a highly flexible and adaptable company suited to meet your needs.

MP257 – The MP257’s are a quick solution to perform the multi-step strips required for many coaxial cables.
Komax Cosmic 927R Micro-Cable Stripper – Offers precision stripping of 10AWG-36AWG wire for most wire and insulation materials.

Pneumatic crimpers – Use compressed air to quickly and easily crimp terminals over wires.

Raychem IR-550 Infrared Heating Tools – Focus light using lenses to melt solder sleeves, coaxial transitions and shrink heat shrink very quickly.

Cirris Testers – Cirris wire testers are used to electronically test almost all of our wire harnesses with a known list of wire connections to ensure that our products are built properly.

Form Boards – Our various in-house built harness testing form boards are used in conjunction with the Cirris testers to test the connections and wire lengths of almost all of our harnesses.
